Battery-Grade Manganese Purification, North America
Conducted GAP analysis and testwork review for a 6.5 thousand tonne per annum plant, including evaluation of alternatives to toxic reagents and zero-liquid discharge.
Challenge
A North American client had already completed a PFS-S study phase for a 6.5 kt/a battery-grade manganese sulphate monohydrate plant, but needed independent confirmation of where the existing work had gaps, particularly around toxic reagent use and tailings handling.
Outcome
MET63 ran a GAP analysis against the prior study while reviewing metallurgical testwork in progress, feeding findings back into the flowsheet. The review also evaluated alternatives to toxic reagents and assessed zero-liquid discharge and dry stacking of solid tailings as design considerations for the plant.
